Hi. I'm new to Rosegarden. I've been trying to compose with audio
segments and Rosegarden has crashed every time I hold down shift while
resizing a segment. I want to add a very small amount of silence to
the beginning of a segment. I'm using Ubuntu Studio 10.04 LTS and
Rosegarden version 10.02.

I can arrange segments and play them without problems. However, when I
hold down shift and drag to resize, Rosegarden instantly crashes. I
can repeat this every time.

Here are some of the lines from the Jack output at the time of a crash:

00:46:18.582 XRUN callback (6).
00:46:18.586 JACK connection graph change.
subgraph starting at qjackctl timed out (subgraph_wait_fd=17, status =
0, state = Running, pollret = 0 revents = 0x0)
subgraph starting at qjackctl timed out (subgraph_wait_fd=17, status =
0, state = Running, pollret = 0 revents = 0x0)
**** alsa_pcm: xrun of at least 2.967 msecs
subgraph starting at rosegarden lost client
bad status (-2) for client rosegarden handling event (type = 8)
00:46:18.590 ALSA connection graph change.

Could this be caused by the xrun? I've been trying to stop xruns but I
thought they only affected sound quality. I'm still just learning how
to use the program and I thought I could worry about quality later.

Is there another configuration problem that might be causing the crashes?

Thanks for your help.

Peter
