Confirmed. I've looked at this one more than once, but I've never managed to figure it out. > If you transpose a segment of a track, but leave the other segments as they > were it sometimes gets totally into a snit and won't let you correct things > at all. I can't confirm this per se, but I know I've chased various obscure transpose- related problems around in circles for a long time. Every time I think I've figured it out, I realize I have no clue after all. We're agreed that something is broken. It's going to turn out to be something fairly critical that's broken in a subtle but awful way. > > If you set a volume level in the event editor near the start of a track it > will be ignored, and the value on the knob will be used, later volume > levels will be responded to. This is worth testing again with the current build, because all of that stuff is radically and fundamentally different now. I haven't run into anything like this in testing what we're about to release, but I haven't actually used Rosegarden for anything creative since 2008 either. All I do is bang out fake test junk to look at this and that, and it doesn't really mimic the actual creative process well at all. Whenever I do use Rosegarden to create, I always find tons of problems, and usually fix several of them, but nothing has been the same since the first time I got laid off. I'd like to have that old life back, and the oceans of free time I used to enjoy, but everything changed. I adapted, I survived, and I'm doing well enough, but the many hobbies that used to really define who I was as a person have fallen by the wayside now; my instruments and tools buried in a thick layer of forlorn dust. > In the matrix editor if you are rubber-banding a group of notes and get > anywhere near the edges of the window it will instantly scroll at very high > speed so you completely lose where you are and have to start again. It is what it is. I've done what I could do. If any of these things you're ranting about are going to get fixed, somebody else will have to do it. I'm not superman. I'm just some truck driver who wandered into this project like Forest Gump at the White House. -- D.
