This bug has existed for the better part of 10 years. Either the timer works, or it freezes your entire system, and that has pretty much been true forever. If you want to investigate, prepare to dig very deep. I don't know where to tell you to start. All I've ever known is if this timer hangs your system, don't use this timer. >>> BTW : What is the clock source actually used by Rosegarden when (auto) is >>> selected ? It's complicated, technical, and I have totally forgotten every one of the details. The short version is Rosegarden tries to pick the highest quality timer available while steering away from stability problems. The timer you're trying to use would be the best, except for that damn unpredictable freezing problem. The auto setting should pick the next best thing, and you probably can't do better. -- D.
