sorry for the individual replies, you know, hidden gmail reply buttons. Here's a recap, I'll make sure to hit reply all the next time...
Would you be able to provide a sample RG file and say what SoundFont you > are using? This could be helpful to debug the issue IMHO. The soundfont I'm using is Fluid R3. As for the RG file, it's not strictly needed because it happens even with any standard midi file that has a percussion track. I've always used GS mode in Qsynth settings, while using the GM bank profile in RG and never had issues with this setup. I remember program change issues with GM and other modes in Qsynth. I can provide more details as I recall them. Could it be down to the wrong .rgd file in use? Always used GM.rgd, it used to work fine. > GM.rgd does not have a bank definition for percussion so you have > > probably just been lucky so far with defaults or something. > > Try using GM2.rgd > Maybe it was like that by design and I can assure you it used to work until last year. With GM2.rgd I have to untick "Percussion" from instrument paramenter, and I don't think it should work that way. After all, I have never used GM2 extras. I do not find that... > > If I remember correctly (by no means guaranteed) I had a similar problem > > to you and Ted advised me to use GM2, which fixed my issue. Maybe it is related to this: https://github.com/FluidSynth/fluidsynth/issues/1323 Il giorno lun 4 ago 2025 alle ore 17:08 Lorenzo Sutton < lorenzofsut...@gmail.com> ha scritto: > Hi Arnaldo, > > Maybe you wanted to answer to the whole mailing list? > > Ciao, > Lorenzo > > On 03/08/2025 23:34, Arnaldo Pirrone wrote: > > The soundfont I'm using is Fluid R3. > As for the RG file, it's not strictly needed because it happens even with > any standard midi file that has a percussion track. > I've always used GS mode in Qsynth settings, while using the GM bank > profile in RG and never had issues with this setup.
