I plan to offer that as an option too, I've started by making an openlayers web interface* that just lets you pick two sizes of tile, both with full details... and will package them into a zip for easy device installation. Before I release a WhereAmI that supports this properly I'm planning on changing the large tiles to only contain major features, and also thinking of world tiles that will just give vmap0 country outlines. I'm wondering about removing the major features as given in the large tiles from the small tiles, or whether the file compression would effectively handle that anyway? (thinking of moving to 7zip as slightly better compression). Cheers, Adam. * I'd suggest not clicking to many different tiles as each new tile does give both my server and the API extra work todo... also the entire tile does get passed to your pc that only stores the size... (zipping is done on the server). http://www.symbianos.org/post.php?nav=osmtileselector _______________________________________________ Routing mailing list [email protected] http://lists.openstreetmap.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/routing
