Has anyone done something with safe pedestrian routing profiles? I'm trying to pull criteria together for a project of mine, and would like it if others could provide their input. You can read it on the wiki, but I've reproduced it below as well: http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Safe_Routes_to_School_Mapping_Toolkit#Routing_profiles
== Safe walking, least distance == * Allow use of highway=footway, highway=path, highway=cycleway, highway=steps, highway=living_street, highway=pedestrian, highway=bridleway, highway=service, and highway=residential unless there is a foot=no/private tag. * Disallow use of all other highway=* segments unless it has sidewalk=yes/both/left/none. * Disallow crossing of above segments unless there is a highway=crossing or highway=traffic_signals node at the intersection (e.g. routing along a highway=residential across an uncontrolled intersection with highway=secondary would not be allowed). == Safer walking, least distance == This could be the same as the above, except it wouldn't allow use of ways with sidewalk=*, since it can't be known if there is safe crossing infrastructure. Also, routing across highway=traffic_signals would not be allowed, as there is no guarantee of a safe crossing (dedicated/marked pedestrian crossing should have it's own highway=footway).
