Hi, The discussion of file size limitations prompts me to ask about a completely different limitation. That of the maximum screenmode size.
For the standard RPC this is limited to what will fit into a 2 MB VRAM. (I assume also by IOMD, but dunno about that.) However with a Viewfinder much larger screen modes became possible. One of the main working differences I notice between running rpcemu and my *Iyonix* (since I no longer have any real RPCs) is the availability of large, 16 million colour, screen modes. So the questions are: Is it possible to either use VRAM > 2MB or impliment a 'vewfinder' equivalent emulation for rpcemu, and thus let it have modes like those on an Iyonix or later machine whilst allowing software to run as it would on a RPC? If so, can I request this, please, as something to be done at some point? :-) Cheers, Jim -- Electronics http://www.st-and.ac.uk/~www_pa/Scots_Guide/intro/electron.htm Armstrong Audio http://www.audiomisc.co.uk/Armstrong/armstrong.html Audio Misc http://www.audiomisc.co.uk/index.html _______________________________________________ Rpcemu mailing list [email protected] http://www.riscos.info/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/rpcemu
