Hi Dylan, --disable-mmap should work, or rather should happen automatically if the os does not support mmap (linux 2.4 does support mmap though). The same is true for madvis and posix_fadvise ...
the *advise family of functions has seen some dramatic improvements in the 2.6 kernel series ... so there is bound to be limited functionality in 2.4 ...
