this scenario doesn't apply to the use case I have in mind, where one machine (or a couple of machines) does nothing but write RRD files all day long - clearly not a multi-user environment. The way `rrdcached' reacts to a SIGTERM is not *that* relevant to me, since I expect an init script to do whatever necessary to flush or just quit, depending on my configuration.
