Excerpts from Dan Jen on Tue, Feb 03, 2009 01:14:48PM -0800: > I thought that the big motivation behind the ALT heirarchy was that ALT > nodes can aggregate prefixes aggressively higher up the ALT heirarchy. > If you don't care about aggregation, then why have an ALT tree at all?
There is information on where to find mappings and the information in the mappings themselves. Where to find mappings is aggregated and pushed on the ALT. Map-Reply messages themselves may contain more or less specific prefixes than those injected into the ALT, but they are sent directly between replier and requestor. _______________________________________________ rrg mailing list [email protected] http://www.irtf.org/mailman/listinfo/rrg
