I haven't tried with 2.4.7 yet, but will if I can. I am still having 1
problem with the change I made. I can transfer a directory with 10GB of
files (3 are approx 2.5GB each) between 2 Alphas. I can also transfer this
same directory locally on AIX (I've only got 1 AIX box to work with). But
when I try to transfer the directory from 1 of the Alphas to the AIX box, I
get the following error:

ERROR: out of memory in generate_sums
unexpected EOF in read_timeout

Any idea if the out of memory error is on the sending side or receiving
side?

Thanks!

I committed this to rsync.h (v1.98), so it should be in 2.4.7. It's
unconditionally defined. If somebody on AIX could build from anoncvs
and confirm that it works that would be great. (Mail me if you would
like help with CVS.)

Thanks,
