Since I'm git-dumb (I know, it runs (almost) as fast as light, but I still 
find it too confusing, especially when compared to hg...) I think a 
quick-recipe could be of use to others too:

$ git clone git://git.adiscon.com/git/rsyslog.git rsyslog.git
$ cd rsyslog.git
$ git checkout origin/v3-stable

and now go configure, make, make install...
