If you have installed the rsyslog backport following the instructions at [1], i.e. adding === deb http://backports.debian.org/debian-backports lenny-backports main === to /etc/apt/sources.list and ==== Package: * Pin: release a=lenny-backports Pin-Priority: 200 ==== to /etc/apt/preferences (you will probably need to create that file), then rsyslog will automatically be updated as soon as it is available from the (backports) archive.
