Hello,

Can the plain TCP TLS encryption supported by rsyslog work with other servers
?  I mean, does rsyslog absolutely need to be present at the receiving side or
can other known (popular in IT for integration in current networks) application
can receive rsyslog's TLS encrypted log messages ?

Thanks,

Fred.

Hello Fred,

Yes, it should work via plan TCP. This should be a good starting point:
http://www.rsyslog.com/doc/rsyslog_tls.html

Actually, encryption over RELP is a more recent feature. The one shown above
should work with older version as well. Either way, using a new version is
recommended, for performance reasons and for better support. You don't want to
run into bugs that were already fixed :)

Best regards,
Radu
