I did some research on this, and it is very simple. Rsyslog-gnutls only
contains one component: lmnsd_gtls.so

But lmnsd_gtls.so is part of the base package as well, since libgt was
added into rsyslog base dependencies.

The rsyslog-gnutls package was partly removed because of the conflict which
results from this.

However for some reason, this wasn’t done in all branches and for all
Ubuntu dists.

So the easiest solution in my opinion is, to remove the rsyslog-gnutls
package from the other branches/dists.

You are right, the component has moved into the RSyslog base package in
RSyslog v8 stable. RSyslog V7 Stable still has the package.
I am going to look into this.

Andre, could you elaborate on the reason for the inclusion of gnutls into
the base package? I wonder if this is absolutely necessary or if it instead
would be better to introduce some new package. While not really
problematic, I think we should drag in other libs (like gnutls) only if the
majority of users really needs them. Granted, gnutls is most probably
present in any case, so this may be a bit of pure nit-picking...
