But the problem isn't on 8.4.1, is on master, right? I'm not sure I can
help *solving* the problem (I had similar issues before and I was pretty
clueless), I could only try reproducing it on my openSUSE-fied laptop. Let
me know if that would help.

Wait, just one thing: did you follow the instructions from the earlier
thread named "fyi, src build of rsyslog/head + json-c/head (on openSUSE)
works"? It basically requires you to build json-c from master and use that,
and the procedure worked for me last week while testing the Elasticsearch
fixes.
