we had some very interesting discussions recently on this list. They
provide great insight into the way to troubleshoot rsyslog problems
and also some common problems (like selinux permissions). I also
notice that much of that content is re-posted and re-written every now
and then.

I wonder if there would be interest to improve the rsyslog
troubleshooting doc. It lives here:

https://github.com/rsyslog/rsyslog-doc/tree/master/source/troubleshooting

I think some limited restructuring and addition of all that good stuff
would be very benefitial to all of us. I could also envison that such
an enhanced guide will help users solve problems faster, makeing them
happier and also reducing the load on those that provide help on the
mailing list. We could even simply refer to an article instead of
always re-writing it on the list.

I will try to do some restructuring, which probably means breaking out
the big doc into a number of smaller files. I'll also see if I can
merge in some of the good info from past week's posts. But I wonder if
we could get this to become a community project. For example, the doc
could extended each time a potentially frequent question is asked (by
writing the doc and linking to it instead of writing the text as
mail).

Anyone interested? Comments?

sounds good to me.
