I have many RHEL 6 servers set up to use disk assisted queues to forward
logs via tcp to a central server. This is working, but for several
reasons, on a good many of the systems, I have several (on some over 8k)
files stuck in the queue.
Just a quick comment - Rsyslog does not delete the last disk-assist spool file
even after processing the logs it contained; this is normal. See
http://blog.gerhards.net/2013/07/rsyslog-why-disk-assisted-queues-keep.html for
details.
So if this is what you're seeing, no need to worry!
although I thought that it did delete it when rsyslog shuts down if all messages
have been delivered.
if you configure impstats, it will show you how many messages are in the queue,
so you will see if it thinks that they have all been delivered or not (although
this may require the .qi file)
