A good template for a test is probably
./tests/template-pos.from-to-lowercase.sh, which uses the newest
version of the testbench plumbing. You need to adapt the specifics so
that it will show an error case.

I would also suggest to revisit the mailing list archive regarding
this thread, as it has a lot of good information.
