However, if I change $MailCommand to 'sendmail' instead of 'sendmailpipe' (and remove the -t arg from $SendmailArguments) email updates work again. Not sure what the difference between these two methods is but Set($MailCommand , 'sendmail'); has fixed the issue for me. niall.
