Title: Data Engineer Location: San Francisco, CA A Data Engineer is a member of the Data Ops team and works alongside Database Developers, Data Integration Developers, Data Analysts, and Data Architects reporting to the Director of Data Operations. Additional Responsibilities: * Work with resources on large projects. * Encourage team collaboration and a synergistic environment. Not afraid to ask questions! * Work with other internal technical personnel to troubleshoot issues and propose solutions. * Support compliance with data stewardship standards and data security procedures. * Apply proven communication and problem-solving skills to resolve support issues as they arise. Qualifications * Bachelor s degree or equivalent experience. * 5+ years of experience in a Database Developer or Data Engineer role. * In-depth understanding of data management (e. g. permissions, security, and monitoring). * Experience with scripting languages such as SQL, R and Python. * Knowledge of software development and data engineering best practices. * Excellent analytical and organization skills. * Effective working in a team as well as working independently. * Strong written and verbal communication skills. Preferred applicants will also have: * Expertise in database development projects and data integration processes. * High performance optimization and tuning techniques. * Experience in securing and auditing data usage, in addition to meeting HIPAA/HITECH compliance rules. * Experience in an agile environment. * Experience planning and implementing QA and testing, and big data/data warehousing. * Experience with Microsoft Azure Data Lake, Data Factory, Databricks and Azure SQL Data Warehouse, and similar.
