Well, I didn't read much more than the first paragraph as the rest seemed to
only detail what was already said.

You asked what do I think. If you're talking about a soldier getting exposed
to mustard gas 13 years ago equating to the suggestion that Saddam had
chemical weapons of some type, then the argument is valid.

Taking that to last year, the American people and the people of the world
were told, in certain and definite terms, that Saddam had amassed stockpiles
of chemical, biological and possibly nuclear weapons. There was no doubt
about it. None. And that's how many weapons we've found thus far: None.

Am I suggesting that he doesn't have any? No. Am I saying that with billions
of dollars in surveillance, both on the ground and in space, that the US
can't spot the movement of such weapons? Yes. More disappointing to me than
the fact that we haven't found any is the fact that we don't know where they
are. At least, the general public doesn't know where they are. The military
may, but they ain't telling. Well, not until the August-September time
frame, which happens to be the time when Ole Bin will be found.

If the US strictly wanted Saddam out of power, I would think there would be
less obvious ways to do it than rolling up in the middle of the town square
with a battle tank. And remember, our government has acknowledged the fact
that there is little to no evidence linking Saddam to Al Quaida and 9-11.

As a side note, either 3 or 7 troops were killed yesterday, depending on
where you read.

Since Jobu is throwing out bait, I might as well throw some too.

BTW, this link goes to a page verifying an incident that I had almost
forgotten about during Gulf War 1. I knew this guy personally and had
played partners with him in games of spades many a night while out in the
field. I had no idea his name was David. We all knew him simply as "Fish".
Good kid. He got exposed to mustard agent. Stands to reason that if it was
there back then, then it might be somewhere around there now. Only question
is....is it buried 50 ft below the sand somewhere in Iraq, or is it in
Syria? Whadyathink Jobu?

Joe

There is a rank due to the United States, among nations, which will be
withheld, if not absolutely lost, by the reputation of weakness. If we
desire to avoid insult, we must be able to repel it; if we desire to secure
peace, one of the most powerful instruments of our rising prosperity, it
must be known that we are at all times ready for war.
