BBMP has paid Rs 610000 for banners on general awareness in new zones and
another Rs 68000/- for infrmative posters on rain damage. We are yet to learn
where these banners were put up.
Palike has said in a bill dated october 3, 2007 that it has paid Rs 98280 for
75 information calanders for journalists visisting BBMP and urban development
department. Nobodyknows who got the calenders .For it has again billed another
50 calenders for Rs 115000 apart from bigger versions for officials at Rs
435000 . Though Palike advertises in the news papers for its welfare schemes,
It has also spent Rs 2.26lakh on banners , posters and brocures on the same .
BBMP has also mentioned in its accounts that it has sent 8000 greeting cards on
sankranthi and the cards cost this organisation rs 79040 plus postage.
On july 31,2007 BBMP organised Kempegowda Day at Kanteerava Stadium and spent
Rs11.94 lakh on banners posters stage light & sound . Artiste fees have cost
Rs5lakhs and ads in print and elctronic media another Rs8.35 lakhs. This is
siginficant as expenses on Kempegowda day celebrations often find a place in
Audit Abjections (Our MHAK first exposed this KG Day Scandalin 2005 &2006also)
Palike PRO B S puttaraju brought a new A/c Car Ambassdor Petrol Model at a cost
of Rs Rs 4.27 lakh . Conventionally Palike PROs used one of many vans available
with palike , sources now say that the PRO is now looking to upgrade to an A/c
Lancer.
Palike has paid Rs16.14lakh to produce 13 episodes of a TV documentary on
Palike Called KATUVEVUNADU (we biuld a nation) and another rs 2.19lakh as fees
for transmissionthrough CHANDANAChannel(govt owned) What takes the the cake is
a dinner party hosted by BBMP on April 13,2007 at Atria Hotel for delegatews of
a seminar> the bill for this dinner is acool rs Rs1.32 lakh .
