Today something special happened in Bangalore , A press conference was
conducted by the Former Mayor OF Bangalore Mr Huchappa (congress) being the Hon
> President of Bangalore Mahanagara Palike Employees Kannada Sangha .
The Single point Agenda of this Press meet that One Mr Alagasundram , Calling
himself as the Editor of a Paper Called "RAMA- RAVANA" is constantly misusing
the RTI act by obtaining Information under the Act and Misuseing it .. He is
also Threating BBMP Employees and Fleecing them for his own Monetary BENEFITS
Mr Hushappa Complained that Even though they have Lodged Complaints with High
Grounds Police and Cubbon Park Police , The police have not arrested him(Mr
alagasundram)
He also alleged that Mr alagasundram Does not Known to Read & Write in Kannada
and in the Guise of a Kannada Paper is Threating Palike Officials and if Not
arrested the BBMP employees may have to Protest
He also Stated that A BBMP employees By Name Smt Gowramma was being Threatened
by This False Journalist and also giving her Sexual and Mental Haressemment .
The Press meet was attended by Several Office bearers of Poura karmika Sangha ,
Revenue Dept and other Palike Sangha's
OUR QUESTIONS :
1.It is a well known fact that The Person in Question was in Regular Rounds
and Very Chummy to BBMP officials for the Past Several years Before RTI also
2. What are Reasons that Even after 3 years of RTI the Officers/Employees have
never lodged Complaints on this Fake Journalist with Their Higher up's
3 . What are the Reasons for This alleged Fake Journalist Making very Correct
and Confident Queries in his RTI Requests and How is it that he has the First
Hand Information of any thing Happening in BBMP
4. Reasons for The BBMP having Opened a SPECIAL RTI CELL TO RECEIVE & PROCESS
MR ALAGASUNDRAMS RTI APPLICATIONS -- Even when an RTI Cell is available and
equipped to Receive RTI Requests of General Citizens
5 Reasons why the Employees Who are now Protesting Agreed to Work in the
Special Cell .
6 It is also learnt through another RTI Application that nearly 90% of the RTI
Requests made by Mr Alagasundram have not been Replied at all
Our RTI Study Centre Demands that a very Through Investigation from an Officer
of DPAR/ Karnataka Information Commission be Conducted to Absolve Citizens, RTI
Activists as also Journalists being Branded and the Employees of BBMP go about
with their Bad Practices .
WE ALSO DEMAND THAT THE SPECIAL CELL OPENED IN THE NAME OF Mr aLGASUNDRAM BE
CLOSED IMMEDIATLY AND HE SHOULD BE DIRECTED TO MAKE HIS RTI REQUESTS AS ANY
OTHER CITIZEN IS EMPOWERED TO DO AND AS PER THE RTI ACT .
A VERY EFFECIENT INVESTIGATION SHOULD BE CONDUCTED BY WAY OF AN PUBLIC AUDIT OF
QUESTIONS/QUERIES BEING MADE BY Mr.ALAGASUNDARAM AND BBMP SHOULD COME OUT THAT
SUCH INFORMATION BE MADE PUBLIC IF THEY ARE NOT COMING UNDER THE SHELTER
CLAUSES AVAILABLE IN THE RTI ACT (sec 8 ,9.10.11)
