We a group of few intellectuals based in Lucknow consist of dedicated RTI activist from different cities of Uttar Pradesh. Some of our group members are IIT Engineers, Scolars, Accademidicians, Journalists etc. We are also running a 24 hour FREE HELPLINE to ordinary citizens of this free India from the stage of drafting their applications under section 6 of the Act, First Appeal and Second Appeal or complaint as the case may be. In few cases we have been even giving the application and documents fees from our pockets. We have been regularly trying to solicit information from various Government agencies during past three years of RTI Act. These information's if were supplied could possibly expose big scams and huge wastage of public money. Sadly all our efforts are frustrated by the Hon'ble Information Commissioners of Uttar Pradesh through their totally illegal, non speaking and against all the provisions of the Act. And upto this stage we have spent a handsome money from our own pockets. The PIO's who somehow manage to obtain such illegal orders are now on the pretext of such illegal orders of Hon'ble Information Commissioners have started declining the information. What now we very strongly feel that such illegal orders be challenged before the Hon'ble High Court of Allahabad. Until we do this, it is sure the RTI Act will become a dead Act. But at this stage we feel handicapped as it requires a good amount of money, which we do not have. We have talked to some Lawyers also who have consented to fight our cases at subsidized fee, but even then each filling would cost atleast Rs. 11,000/'. We are not interested in taking money ourselves. Only the cost of these litigations may be met by some people by directly giving it to the lawyers.
