Uttar Pradesh Information Commission is also almost on the same lines. Atleast
you were able to get data. Even these figures are not available with UPSIC. Now
the time has come when we must think and suggest concrete steps to strenghten
the RTI Act. If we do not unite and wakeup, the day is not far when this Act
will DIE. The IC's allover INDIA are bent upon to let this Act die by providind
no relief to Applicants of frubilious pleas of the PIO. With whom it seems that
these IC are hand in glove. One gentleman who met me at U.P. State Information
Commission so remarked; "You will get nothing from here. We pass on the cut to
them regularly". It was a great shock to me..
