Dear Veeresha & Sarabjit
       you both have touched an issue which need detailed study.
   I have many people who wanted certain information from Public
Sector Banks.They say that they can not pass on information like
details of debit credit AND BALANCE in any account(S/B OR CURRENT OR
FD).Privacy is the only cause.If this information is passed on to a
person, he may black mail or like a Criminal minded person may assess
the whelth of some one to  bargain, with him. In my opinion there are
many type of information which these bank should not refuse. Kindly
see these matter are also to be examined in a meeting of CIC.
