Dear M There are many of reasons why RTI Act is going to be diluted - such as looming election results. Do we really think that representing to Parliamentary Committees is going to change anything? If yes, lets put our heads together.
Coming to the matter at hand, namely 7(3). If we can't analyse why these 3 great ICs are wrong - then are we even fit to represent to the Parliamentary Committee? The only reasons why the CIC / SICs get away with such high-handeness is a) because we have let them get away with it unchallenged, b) because the people entrusted to represent for "the people" (aka Mir Jafars of RTI) were in bed (in all senses of the term) with the State and it functionaries. Let us analyse the 7(3) situation, what are the weaknesses, loopholes in IC(T)'s various decisions on this. I have spotted at least 7 major boo-boos, I need independent confirmation / new ideas for things I may have missed. Can't afford to wait for Parliamentary Committees. Rally round.
