Dear friends, thanks for all this information and insights! I sought for information related to "dry statistics" from the CWC.
- No. of childrens' cases brought before CWC - No. of children transferred to various shelter homes, including state run homes, detailed break up of the no. of children sent to which homes in the city - How many cases have been filed on adult perpetuators over the last 3 years (jan 2006-July 2009) - On an average how many cases are handled by CWC in a given month The CWC officials wrote a letter claiming that this is confidential information and cannot be shared in the best interests of children. They also stated that they might comply if I can give them reasons for seeking this information. One of the social service persons sent an email-that if we need information of children in government homes we must seek this information from the DWCD. *I suppose the person is ignorant of the fact that if a particular information sought from an office is available at another office, as per the RTIA the concerned PIO must forward this applictaion there for further action.* Yet in my case that is not the issue. I have clearly sought information 'statistics' related to cases referred by CWC alone. regards brinda On Wed, Apr 15, 2009 at 5:42 PM, sroy1947 <[email protected]> wrote: > > > Hi, > > As long as you limit yourself to only "dry statistics" they cannot invoke > any exemption. The price you pay for veneration is conformity!! You have a right to feel anyway you feel. How you act on those feelings is what is important!! The greatest risk is not taking one...
