With lot of persuasion and with the help of a family friend, we succeed in
meeting Smt. Nandini w/o Late Sri. Venkatesh, and expressed our condolences on
behalf of KRIA KATTE and all the RTI Activists though out the country, the
family is very much scared (frightened from the incident and are not sharing
anything about circumstances about the death. Some of the information as
narrated by Mrs. Venkatesh is given below:-
1) The alleged (attack) accident occurred between 8-30 and 8-40 Pm on 6th
April 2009, this information was given to a family friend who reside near the
alleged accident spot. He was taken to wockhardt hospital were the doctors had
given the treatment and requested the family to take the patient to
NIMHANS(National Institute of Mental Health & Neuro Science) for further
treatment due to severe head injury he had suffered, she had a bad experience
several years back about the lethargy in treating accident victims in NIMHANS,
so she admitted him to HOSMAT(Hospital for Orthopedics, Sports Medicine,
Arthritis and Accident-Trauma) and while the doctors were preparing for the
scanning he died. He leaves behind a son who is studying for diploma course
and a daughter who is in School.
2) Smt. Nandini had said that Late Mr. Venkatesh had neither discussed
anything about the RTI work nor he kept any papers in the house.( We presume
that they do not want to discuss or like to provide further info. Since police
case is registered)
3) We have requested an appointment with Late Mr. Venkatesh’s family
members if materializes further information will be provided through this group
