To the Surprise of all us here in Bangalore to an RTI Query Made by Our
Managing Trustee of RTI study Centre mR S Amareesh Made to the Deputy
Conservator of Forests BBMP , The officer & PIo has not Replied within the
Mandatory 30 days but has sought through a letter that he needs a further
extended period of 30 days .
Contast this with the regular Press notes and Inputs being Put forth by BBMP
which atates that for Road wideing and Metro Project the BBMP has from 2007
till date has Cut 2123 trees including the ones which were in danger of Falling
due to various reasons . The BBMP has expended Rs 44.439 laks to carry out
cuttinand disposal of these cut trees, All the trees were cut in the name of
Development
However the BBMP is very silent on the Amount which it has recovered to the
treasury by sale of this Timber . BBMP is also not replying to the Query of the
Types of Trees which were cut
