Looks like this practice started by Dr. Suresh Joshi SCIC Maharashtra is catching up all over ( even BMC Commissioner Sh. Jairaj Phatak has lodged a police case against one of the complainants who met Sh. Phatak on Lokshahi din).
I have an appeal hearing with Chief of Abattoir at Deonar day after tomorrow: subject is Qurbani. As per the law ( papers sent to me by District Animal welfare Deputy Commissioner) only if the animal is found to be not useful or there is no possibility of the animal to be useful in future in terms of carrying load or yield of milk or reproduction then, after so certifieed by a Vet Doctor only,such animal can be sacrificed. I am asking reference in religious books where such qurbani of bulls , buffaloes ( baby & adults) is prescribed , I am also asking copy of certificates of doctors who have certified that these animals were fit for the sacrifice. Request suggestions , if any, that I should follow while attending the above hearing ? Shall I write to Police at Deonar, in advance, stating my purpose of visit to Abattoir & my worry about false case may be lodged against me?
