If applicant is afraid to file an RTI Application, my single advice would be that they should not file the RTI Application at all. So next time you have somebody asking you this kind of question, simply ask these applicants if they did the same while they go to book railway tickets? May better sense prevail. Here's are some of the typical cases I have come across. In one instance there is some property where they (Son & daughters) are trying to seek information jointly from banks regarding their deceased father's account. Bank PIO is not accepting it. (Third party) In another case a guy is afraid to seek info from the panchayat fearing reprisal. In that case he wanted to know whether he can seek info collectively along with some other guys from the Panchayat. There are many more such instances where people simply do not have the guts to seek info alone and want to go in unison. Any ideas ? As you have already said, RTI documents are as valid as any other documents acceptable to courts if procured in proper manner as "CERTIFIED COPIES". Courts will readily accept it.
