A particular IC (at CIC) has installed a TEA/COFEEE vending machine - manned by a contractor - outside his office. It is claimed that he pays for this machine from his private funds. This incidentally is the same champion of transparency who was worth Rs.60 lakhs 3 years ago (at about the time he became NCPRI convenor) and now has suddenly declared assets of over 5 crores in his and his wife/daughter's name after he became an IC.
Only persons with causes listed before this IC are allowed to avail this "free" hospitality. A special and modern visitors room has been set up near this IC's chamber for those who want to sip tea/coffee at this cafeteria. This obviously causes great resentment to parties whose cases are being heard by the other 2 ICs with adjacent chambers (and no space / chairs / tea (regular and iced) / coffee for visitors to sit) - who being relatively more honest (if less transparent) cannot compete by raising funds by dubious methods (eg. bribes to "condone" penalties) like this man openly indulges in.
