Remember the case in HC Mumbai about quota of 90 % for SSC students for
admission in 11 th standard ( & 10 % for CBSE & ICSE)

Education Minister Sh. Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil wanted very senior lawyers
to fight the case to justify/ defend the Govt stand in HC.

He appointed Sh. K.K. Singhvi & Sh. Anil Sakhare for the purpose. Sh.
Singhvi charged Rs. 3. 5 lakh per appearance, total six such appearances
cost was Rs 21 lakh, in addition to this he charged Rs. 50,000 per meeting,
total six such meetings cost was Rs. 3 lakh.

Sh. Sakhare chared Rs. 1.75 lakh per appearance, total eight such appearance
cost Rs. 14 lakh. He also charged Rs. 25,000 per meeting, total five such
meetings cost Rs. 1.25 lakh.

Sh. Ujwal Nikam who represented govt during the bomb blast case was given
Rs. 5,000 per day.

Questions are being asked for the necessity for appointing such high cost
lawyers/ also about need to appoint special lawyers when govt has its own
lawyers on the panel.
