Non Implementation of Section 4 by Maharashtra Information Commission
Translation of letter written in Loksatta ( Marathi edition of Indian Express recently) Sh. Prashant Jadhav from Nashik ( Secretary,Raja Shivaji Public Interest Multipurpose Organization ) writes complaining about non implementation of section 4 ( 2) by Maharashtra Information Commission. It is a long letter , I am translating it in brief The Maharashtra Information Commission website does not have / is not updated in terms of 1)RTI related circulars published by State / Central Government. 2)Status of appeals / complaints. 3)Decisions given by the Information Commission ( updated) 4)Schedule of Appeal hearing 5) Tours by information Commission 6) Information commission Contact details 7) Formats of various forms etc. He has complained about Dr. Joshi asking applicant his occupation during the hearing although as per section 6(2) of the act, applicant need not share any details about himself except his contact details. Sh. Jadhav ends his letter saying if this is the state of affairs in the office of Information Commission, there is no point in expecting implementation of RTI act by other Maharashtra Govt depts.
