Hello!
I have begun installation of rtl 3.0 on a fresh Redhat 7.1 system. I had to
install ecgs 1.1.2 (via compat-ecgs-6.2-1.1.2.14.rpm) as per installation
instructions. Unfortunately, I cannot get "rtlinux start" to load the modules
properly, or at least output something which I believe is sane.
Here is the output:

Then things start to go downhill. ls will not return anything, ps and top dumps
core.
I try ./examples/hello", with make test, to no avail. It compiles, but I do not
get any reasonable output.
lsmod lists: rtl_fifo, rtl_posixio, rtl_sched, rtl_time, rtl as loaded.

My hardware is striaghtforward:
intel 740 video
WD 20 GD HD
Pentium III 450
256 MB RAM
AOpen AX6BC mainboard
Here is what I tried:
The rtl 2.4.0 patched kernel (rtlinux_kernel_2_4.tar.gz) was downloaded and
uncompressed in /usr/src.
rtlinux-3.0.tar.gz was uncompressed in /usr/src.
A symbolic link in /usr/src/rtlinux-3.0/ was made to the kernel source directory.
In /usr/src/rtlinux_kernel_2.4.0-test1-rtl/, the Makefile was changed so CC and
HOSTCC read kgcc.
make menuconfig was executed, the default configuration was used, and config
exited. make dep, bzImage, modules, modules_install proceeded.
the resulting image was copied to root, and lilo executed.
The machine was then rebooted.
In /usr/src/rtlinux-3.0/, make, make devices and install created the rtlinux
modules, devices and directories.
in ./bin/, rtlinux start was typed at the command line.
The kernel will boot, and even start xdm, but when I try to load the
