Of the two options presented here, I think this one, option 1, is the
most useful, long term. It could be beneficailly fed back to the RH
people from them to present as one of their "rough cuts". I think they
would be pleased to have it.
At this writing, I have no idea what the changes are between .35 and
the RH version or .36 are, but they could easily be in areas of the
kernel that have nothing to do with RTL. Let's hope.

Sound like the quickest path to where you want to be.
Somebody will need to do option 1, the sooner the better. It might
even be me as I am in the process of architecting a RT application
and just came across this RTL stuff. Looks real tempting....
I am considering only two options at this point LynxOS and RTL.
I prefer RTL for lots of reasons and my client even has the balls
to let me make the call. He rolled over so fast I was almost
disappointed that i didn't get to denounce the darkness that has
fallen on the land.
At any point I admit to a little nerviousness at hanging myself
and client (it's a bet the farm thing for him) but I think every
thing will work out. I'm still designing things and spec'ing
a custom hardware board. I have a few questions. I will start
a new thread for in a few days when I have had time for more
homework, web pages, faqs, that sort of thing.
