Imagine you were using dos/windoze which basically treats everyone as root
or super user.

Someone writing rt code to plug into linux ( or anything else ) can easily
take down (take out?) the system no matter what you do.  

Disconect the machines from the campus network.  Network the rt machines
together locally only.

The rt tasks run even above "root" level.  I believe they run in "ring 0"
as the kernel does.
