I didn't realize until recently that the kernel sources RedHat ships
with the 5.2 disk are NOT 2.0.36, they are a pre-release. They
unfortunately don't make that clear at all.
If you use the kernel patch, you should try starting from the real
2.0.36 kernel source files.
