[rtl] Kernel size

Hi all,

my first trial to install my new compiled RTL-Kernel stopped
with a message saying that the kernel is much too big.

In deed: my kernel size was 1.6 MBytes!
How is this possible?
Did I forget some switches?

Any hint welcome.
