RT-Linux will run any user-space application that regular Linux can
run, this includes Netscape under the X Window System.
ActiveX is not native to Linux and so will *not* work in either
Linux or RT-Linux. ActiveX is a strategic platform technology
of Microsoft Windows. You need to select another technology for Linux.
If you have some Active-X or COM components you were hoping to
use, then you will need to develop a network application as
part of your real-time system. That is, your real-time task
will run on the RT-Linux box, and you will have a network
interface to control it. The MS Windows client will then communicate
with the RT-Linux box over the network.
If a network layer is unacceptable, you will need to re-write
(or re-discover in open-source code) the functionality of the
ActiveX components you were hoping to use.
