Which version of linux ??
You can create a RH rescue disk and copy a good /lib directory
mount /dev/hda1 /mnt/oldroot
cp goodlib ( off the rescue disk perhaps) /mnt/oldroot/lib
chroot /mnt/oldroot /sbin/ldconfig -v
A good small rescue disk for version 2.2.9 can be found from CCLinux
<http://www.CosmicChaos.com/CClinux/>
You may have lost more than just /lib though...
