Hi again,

Well...The system still boots and stops at "VFS: Mounted root (ext2....."
:| Hmmm.  What else could I have lost. The command I typed to cause this
was...
in the /root directory
gzip -r /lib/*.* > lib.gz
what else could have happened?
I was attempting to gzip and copy all the lib files to a different system,
then ungzip.
Hmmm....
Thanks for you help, do you have anymore ideas?
