No.
You can use v1.2 with Linux-2.0.36 - that's considered a stable release.
Or you can go for the completely rewritten version 2.
I think right now it is at beta10, matching Linux-2.2.10. (It's really
the 10th beta version, not just 10 because of the Linux version :-).

Since you seem to have an application using an old v1 version, you should
probably go with 2.0.36/v1.2, since it should just run your app.
With the 2.2.x/v2 series, you would need some changes.
