OK.... one last time just for my own sanity which is rapidly slipping away:
As I understand it, I need three items:
Item #1) RT linux kernel
Item #2) A Linux Kernel appropriate for item #1
Item #3) A patch appropriate for item #2
Most of you have suggested the following
Item #1) rtlinux1_1.tgz
Item #2) linux-2_0_36_tar.gz
Item #3) rtlinuxV1_2patch.tgz
Is the above OK?
While I am fairly certain of the marriage of #2 & #3..... WHY IS #1 (APPARENTLY)
VERSION 1.1?
It's disconcerting to see the patch be v1.2 and the rt kernel be v1.1! Is there a
rtlinux1_2.tgz?
Here is a crazy idea.... why not have a section of the home page that are designed for
idiots
like me who are interested in merely getting a stable version running without talking
about all
the subtle nuances of combining different kernels with different patches etc. etc.
It looks as if an attempt was made to accomplish this (I'm referring to the download
table), but
it's confusing. Naively, I would have gone and downloaded V0.9J which is for linux
2.0.36....
but where the heck is 0.9J coming from? I thought we were at V1.1..... or is it 1.2?
Sorry.... but it's very frustrating to spend hours doing something that should take
minutes.
