Can anybody come up with a simple and comprehensive table
displaying exactly the differences/similarities between RTLinux
(MNT) and RTAI?

I don't know about the rest of you, but for me it's been
quite confusing to picture what exactly each implementation
does. This is due mainly to the lack of a consistent terminology
among some of the members of this list when referring to this
or that implementation - people tend to use "RTLinux" to refer
to both implementations. Or even worse, the misinformation
on some web pages with respect to the documentation included
in the distribution (.tgz), the email messages in this list,
etc. For example:

1) Commercial Distributions

2) IPC

3) Floating point

And so on...

The internet, the www, and mailing lists are wonderful and
indispensable technological assets available at every person's
finger tips. However, the speed at which things evolve today
contrasts with the speed at which people is capable of updating
and maintaining the information displayed by those resources.
This problem plus some subliminal political dispute that we
seem to be undergoing in this list can only be damaging to
this community.

   Best,

      Guilherme
