Hello,
I have try to install rtlinux. In fact, I have the RedHat 5.1 Linux
distribution. Then, I got a new kernel source and the rtlinux patch. I got
linux-2-2-10 kernel source and beta11 rtlinux patch, which works with this
linux kernel version. I followed the Till Christian Siering's instructions,
according to the rt-manual that I found on this web page:
http://www.rtlinux.org/~rtlinux/ .So, I installed the new kernel and
rebooted the system.
Then I try to compile and run some of the examples. I read the readme file.
This file says that to run the examples I have to compile and boot the
RT-Kernel. (I suppose that the previous steps have created the new kernel)
.Then, I have to install the RT_scheduler module and RT_fifo module. So,
from the rtl directory, I type make and make install. I receive the
following message:
Installing modules in /lib/modules/misc
Installing header in /usr/include/rtlinux
But, when I type lsmod, the system says that there is no modules installed.
Actually, the examples do not run. So, I type
insmod /lib/modules/misc/rtl_fifo.o
insmod /lib/modules/misc/rtl_sched.o
After this, the system does not respond and the only way to recover it is
pushing the reset bottom.
Could someone help me, please?
Ana.
