please excuse that I respond later than many others on the list - we
are currently moving our development facilities and so are quite busy
in the moment.
The product code CPC-104I refers to our intelligent CAN interface card
for PC-104 systems (the last letter "I" indicates that). The intelligent
board is ideal for systems with non-deterministic (at least in the time
frames given by CAN communication) interrupt response - for example stan-
dard Linux and Windows. They include a microcontroller and buffer storage
to compensate for bad interrupt behaviour of the operating system.
For realtime operating systems this additional hardware is not required
- it only makes the system more expensive and less reactive. So for your
application the non-intelligent interface CPC-104 should better match
the requirements - and for that board a realtime Linux driver is avai-
lable in our suite of Linux drivers. Since the price of a competitors
product has been mentioned on the list before: CPC-104 is around US-$ 190
in its basic form and with the current exchange rates.
