RTL V3.0-pre7/8 and RTL V2.3
486 boxes I run it on
IBM 425SX/S (genuine Intel)
IBM 433DX/Sp (genuine Intel)
Zenith Notebook, Cyrix 486/SX 25
AMTAC ,
DSP Design TB486 ,AMD Elan SC400
Advantech PCM 4823/L ,AMD 486 DX5
so I guess it should work on most 486.
pleas post exactly what 486 you are talking about, since there are some
realy wild 486's around and especially some very funny old motherboards
also you might try to run MiniRTL V2.3
ftp://ftp.rtlinux.org/pub/rtlinux/minirtl/minirtlV2.3/images/minirtl-i486-V2.3.img
also pleas pop in V2.2 if V2.3 realy does fail !
ftp://ftp.rtlinux.org/pub/rtlinux/minirtl/minirtlV2.2/images/minirtlV2.2-i486.img
